Welcome to SBCOD Church Ministries
“God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help them. Hebrews 6:10 (NIV)”
Anointed Dance Ministry
The Anointed Dancers for Christ consists of a group of committed believers, which presents the Gospel and Biblical Principles in Dance. Dance is a vehicle, which vividly portrays the application of God’s Word to situations that are tangible and contemporary as well as displaying biblical accounts and stories. The Bible admonishes us to praise the Lord with the dance (Psalm 149:3). The team utilizes methods of worship to stimulate Christian Discipleship and to promote a positive response to the gospel from the congregation.

Audio/Video Ministry
The Audio/Video Ministry is responsible for making sure the message of the Gospel can be heard (and seen) during our services. Duties include operating the sound systems throughout the church, recording the services, and duplicating the message.

Christ and Cultural Humility Ministry
Christ and Cultural Humility Vision Statement:
We strive to be a church that demonstrates cultural humility in each walk of life; recognizing that every one of us comes from a variety of cultural backgrounds, we propose to welcome, value, and celebrate these differences as we strengthen our relationships with God, within the church family, and the community. We strive to raise an awareness of practicing cultural humility in our church as evidenced in the ministry of Jesus. Learn More

Deacon/Deaconess Ministry
The Deacon/Deaconess Ministry provides service to the congregation, supports Rev. Hamlin and associate pastors, support the vision of the ministry, and participates in other ministries within the church and special events or functions the church presents. They serve as armor bearers when needed.

Feeding Ministry
Second Baptist provides 350 meals and a worship service on the second Wednesday of every other month at the Chosen 300 Homeless feeding ministry in Philadelphia, Pa. If you are looking for a way to be a blessing to those less fortunate than yourself, then I encourage you to be a part of this ministry. We need people to help cook the meals, drive the van, help serve at the facility and help lead in the time of worship. Parents are welcome to include their children in this ministry. It’s time to reach out – “to whom much is give – much is required” Jesus’ last words to His disciples: “GO ye into all the world and make disciples …and Lo, I am with you always” …it’s time to put your faith into action!

Garden Ministry
The Garden Ministry is dedicated to keeping our church grounds beautiful. We plant and maintain the flowers and trees around the Church. If you enjoy doing light gardening and spending time with other gardeners, come out and join us.

Greeters Ministry
The greeter is responsible to ensure that every person entering the church is greeted and that visitors are offered assistance as appropriate so that everyone feels important and welcome.

The Married Couples Ministry of Second Baptist Church recognizes the difficulties of modern married life. From parenting programs, conferences, marriage enrichment seminars, social gatherings, retreats and Bible study programs; we want to help you with life’s challenges. Our mission is to provide opportunities where husbands and wives can learn to love one another as Christ loves them, intimately, unconditionally and with full forgiveness as they demonstrate through their daily walk that two have become one.

Men’s Ministry
The Men’s Ministry exists to enhance the social, emotional, and spiritual development of men within and without our congregation. The group meets regularly to provide men with training and encouragement to become more like Christ, personal accountability to achieve the goal of godliness and integrity in their daily lives, and fellowship to build strong, lasting relationships with men like you. Meetings are held the Second Saturday of each month at 9:00 a.m.  Learn More

Missions Ministry
Second Baptist Church is involved in an ongoing process of building a mission program that is far-reaching and powerful on a global level. Second Baptist Church has collaborated its resources, gifts, and finances with several local and international organizations to aid in the fulfillment of the “Great Commission”.

Music Ministry
II Chronicles 5:13-14 It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD; So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God. Learning to worship God through praise and adoration is one key to a victorious Christian life. Leading others to do the same is also a great blessing. Involvement in the Music Ministry gives you the opportunity to do both! Regardless of your age or musical background, the Music Ministry has something to offer you. Nursing Home Ministry
The elderly are often forgotten in society. This ministry puts legs to our faith by ministering to the spiritual needs of senior citizens. Members of the Nursing Home Ministry visit people in Doylestown nursing homes and share the Good News of Jesus with them.

Pastor’s Aide Ministry
The role of the Pastor’s Aide Ministry is to show love and personal support to the Pastor and his family as he provides spiritual leadership to the members of Second Baptist Church of Doylestown. Such support ensures that Pastor Hamlin is freed up to concentrate on his call to shepherd the Second Baptist flock.

Physical Care Ministry
The Physical Care Ministry (PCM) is here to care for and help with the “physical care” needs of the church family. Educating the church families, keeping a watchful eye on the physical needs of the congregation and assist in maintaining safety within the church building is an important ministry goal. The PCM members are passionate in their desire to care for the church families physical needs while they are being spiritually fed.

Prison Ministry
The Prison Ministry is comprised of men and women who visit the Bucks County Jail and provide aftercare to ex-offenders and their families. We believe applying God’s Word to a person’s life can effect a change in behavior and this ministry demonstrates God’s love to prisoners.

Scholarship Ministry
A Church ministry whose purpose is to encourage and support undergraduate attendees from our congregation to enroll at Institutes of Higher Learning. This program raises funds through designated giving. The ministry also provides encouragement to SBC college students through the outreach of the College Care Package Program and the awarding of scholarships through the College Scholarship Fund. Since both of these programs are self-supported the committee coordinates fundraising through creating an awareness of these ministries within the Second Baptist Church congregation.

Trustee Ministry
The trustees serve as the official, legal servants in matters of business for the church and are designated to regulate and administer church funds.

Ushers Ministry
Ushers demonstrate the love and spirit of Jesus Christ by providing assistance with a smile. The usher’s role in the church service is to maintain an atmosphere of reverence and order before, during and after the service.  Usher activities include welcoming and seating visitors and the congregation, handing out literature, assist in the giving part of the service and offer assistance to the Pastor, ministerial staff and the congregation whenever needed.  Usher’s also travel with the Pastor when he preaches at other locations to represent SBCOD and to serve the entire congregation.  Our commitment is defined in the following scriptures:

Psalm 84:10-11
For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand.  I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

Colossians 3:23-24
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

Women’s Ministry focuses on a wide range of topics in each of the Bible-based study and fellowship groups created especially for women. You can share fellowship and accountability with other women while deepening your relationship with God. Regardless of your stage in life, Women’s Ministry has something to offer. Worship Warriors Prayer Ministry
The great privilege of Worship Warriors is mobilizing Intercessors and Prayer Warriors to pray a covering over the Worship Services, and to usher in the Holy Spirit’s presence. They take on the role of Pray-ers, before Service and while Service is taking place. Praying before the Service allows the Holy Spirit to prepare us spiritually to receive from Him. Our prayers make a difference in the Spiritual atmosphere. Some Worship Warriors pray before Worship Services, while others pray as the Service is taking place. A Deacon will be assigned each week to help facilitate the time of prayer.
